Tieme Ndo is a nonprofit social enterprise headquartered in Northern Ghana. Our model is rooted in sound business practices. We supply smallholder farmers with everything they need to succeed and are scaling up to serve more farm families every day for maximum impact.

Why we exist

We exist to help rural smallholder farmers double their crop yields and earn more income every growing season. We know that with the right tools, knowledge, and innovations, farmers can grow more food, become financially stable, and build resilience for their families and communities, now and for the future.

How we work

  • Listening: We believe the best solutions come from farmers themselves. That’s why we listen closely through our network of field officers and direct client feedback to ensure that smallholder voices shape everything we do.

  • Partnering: We collaborate with partners across the agricultural sector to design products, services, and systems that support farmers in maximizing the value of their land and crops.

  • Advocating: We amplify the voices of northern Ghanaian farmers and highlight their vital role in addressing global challenges, such as food security, malnutrition, and rural poverty.

  • Evaluating: We stay accountable and rigorously measure our impact. We continuously monitor and evaluate our programs to ensure transparency, accuracy, and real, measurable yield improvements for our farmers.

  • Harnessing technology: We aim to reach more farmers and increase farmers’ access to our support. From modern input technologies and climate-smart agriculture to digital tools, we harness innovation to help more farmers grow more and build resilience against a changing climate.

How we reach farmers

Farmers are at the center of everything we do. Through our signature Baafo program, we eliminate the financial barriers that often deprive rural families of productive farm inputs. We deliver a holistic suite of services tailored to farmers' needs, particularly in the most remote areas, offering flexible payment and financing plans to ensure cash-strapped farmers are not left behind when the planting season begins.

We reach farmers right where they are through our trusted team and local networks working directly within farming communities. We support smallholder farmers year-round across the entire agricultural value chain by:

  • Providing Access to Productive Farm Inputs: Offering a bundle of high-quality improved seeds, fertilizers, and other modern input technologies at the right time and at the farmers' convenience.

  • Delivering Training & Extension Services: Enhancing the capacity of our farmers with hands-on training focused on good agronomic practices and climate-smart agriculture, combined with ongoing field follow-ups.

  • Facilitating Market Linkages: Supporting farmers in selling their harvests at fair prices by connecting them to reliable, profitable markets.

  • Promoting Climate Resilience: Helping farmers adopt sustainable farming methods that increase their long-term resilience to the effects of climate change.

Since our launch in 2017, we have been dedicated to making farming a profitable venture for young and rural smallholders in Ghana. By 2033, we aim to support 100,000 young farmers in doubling their yields and achieving financial stability—because when our farmers prosper, whole communities do too.
